Girasol Payment Solutions has acquired Colombian fintech company FinZi in a bid to expand into the Colombian and South American markets. FinZi currently has over 250,000 registered users on its digital wallet and offers a range of financial products such as bank accounts, micro-loans, and utility payments. Girasol, based in Curaçao in the Caribbean, plans to leverage FinZi’s infrastructure to expand its own services and solutions in the region. FinZi will maintain its focus on offering digital wallet services to its user base while also developing its presence in the B2B segment. Girasol intends to introduce its technological solutions and processing platforms, such as its banking-as-a-service solutions and white-label wallets, to FinZi’s platform by the first quarter of 2024. Both companies are excited about the acquisition and see it as an opportunity to transform the payment ecosystem in Colombia and the Caribbean region.
