Renters can sign up to CreditLadder using any of the Digital ID apps, which securely provide personal information, age verification, and banking details. CreditLadder, which has already reported over £1 billion in rent payments, tracks and captures rental payments automatically through Open Banking.
This partnership aims to bring fairness to tenants by allowing their on-time rent payments to appear on their credit files, thereby helping to improve their credit scores and access to fairer finance. The ability to factor in rent payments when making credit decisions is also starting to be considered by lenders when assessing mortgage applications.
