The 2024 rankings of the best investment banking firms to work for have been released by Vault, a data-driven employer rankings company. The rankings are based on Vault’s Fall 2023 Banking Survey of over 2,400 banking professionals, who were asked to rate their firms in various categories such as compensation, culture, diversity, and work/life balance. Some of the key findings from the survey include:

  • Centerview Partners is the #1 Overall Investment Bank to Work For.
  • Firm culture and compensation are the top deciding factors for investment bankers when choosing an employer.
  • 61% of analysts in the survey previously interned with their current employer.
  • The top deciding factor for investment bankers when choosing an employer is firm culture, followed by compensation.
  • Bankers’ satisfaction with their compensation fell after a sharp rise last year, likely due to the difficult deal market in 2023.
  • Investment banking remains a male-dominated profession.

According to Vault, the top 10 most prestigious investment banks for 2024 are Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan, Centerview Partners, Evercore, Lazard, PJT Partners, Moelis & Company, Bank of America Corp., and Qatalyst Partners. The top 10 best investment banks for 2024 are Centerview Partners, Evercore, Moelis & Company, Lazard, Guggenheim Partners, Morgan Stanley, PJT Partners, Perella Weinberg, Greenhill & Co. LLC, and Harris Williams.
