A longtime Apple finance executive, Saori Casey, has been appointed as the new CFO of Sonos, a developer and manufacturer of wireless speakers and home sound systems. Casey will join Sonos on January 22, 2024, after serving almost 13 years as VP of finance at Apple. In her new role, Casey’s main focus for the first 90 days will be learning the business and meeting people to assess what’s working and what’s not. Sonos CEO Patrick Spence believes Casey’s extensive experience at world-class companies makes her well-suited to build the company’s momentum and oversee all financial functions. Casey’s experience includes working closely with the CEO and CFO of Apple to scale the company from $65 billion to nearly $400 billion in revenue, as well as engaging with board members and managing investor relations. Sonos has faced headwinds with a decline in overall revenue for fiscal year 2023, but the company remains committed to innovation and plans to enter a new category, possibly headphones, to drive revenue. Casey joins Sonos as the company makes other strategic hires, including a new chief revenue officer and chief commercial officer. Casey’s appointment follows the trend of strong finance executives moving to tech companies, and her experience and strategic focus will likely be valuable in driving Sonos’ growth and success in the highly competitive tech industry.
